Description :

91 was the first art piece created for the Recover exhibition, which was held in Australia in 2005. Working with different media, this was the start of a body of work expressing the thought of covering and re-covering.

In 91, a piece of text is repeatedly written, until the canvas was covered in words. These written words derive from Psalm 91, a Psalm that speaks of rescue, safety, protection and hope. Values that are foundational to our existence and help us to enter into a state of rest and peace. These values sought after and treasured by humaity are repeated on the canvas, as if they are the spoken words of one who is meditating on its truth and seeking to experience the reality of them.
